There's More Than One Way To Do It, and by "do it" we mean "refer to the programming language by name"pic.twitter.com/87y5BZ4Elw

Here's the method `FatRat.nude` https://docs.perl6.org/type/FatRat.html#(Rational)_method_nude …
* Perl 6 has a core class called `Cool` * Yes, not a role, a class * A `Cool` is an object which can be treated as both a string and a number * "COOL" stands for "convenient object-oriented loop"
I just love how the name "Raku Perl 6" implies the existence of, say, Raku Perl 5, "to clear up any confusion"
I know we as a discipline have a famously difficult time naming things but seriously how can we be this bad at it
this made me think about some deep fucking math. since pi is irrational, would that mean that for integers, given infinite precision, cos A = cos B means A = B? in other words did they accidentally stumble on a safe reversible encoding for length?
cos(1) = cos(-1) but if A and B are both non-negative, maybe I guess
To be fair that's the built-in method for taking the cosine of anything that can be coerced to a number, not just arrays. But yes, that's the sloppiest type system that I've ever seen that can still be called a type system.
I like the method unpolar...but I feel it should receive two arguments, not one and use the invocant as magnitude
