It's funny how many people are worried about potential EU time zone changes. Do you not regularly update your copy of the tz database? Why not?

I would imagine concerns are more over legacy tech that predates such elegant solutions? I can see there being a bunch of embedded crap everywhere

Almost everyone only cares about local time. Timezones globally are changed frequently. Timezones in a specific location change rarely.
