Interesting (and great storytelling IMO) that in T1 Kyle Reese says Skynet “saw all humans as a threat” (seemingly unprovoked), then in T2, the T800 says that humans tried to pull the plug when it became self-aware, and Skynet fought back.
Do you remember the bit in The Terminator when Skynet goes rogue and seizes control of the U.S. nuclear arsenal? Correct! You do not! In an incredibly realistic touch, Skynet had already been given control of the U.S. nuclear arsenal, entirely voluntarily. Then it went etc.
