Won't hold water, the DC movies compete and make money, even though their quality is suspect. Now, it might be interesting to see this happen to Disney at a higher level...
Are you suggesting that it's implausible that a US court would order a fictional universe to fragment into multiple competing universes

No, it could definitely happen, but I'm confident Disney's army of lawyers would win the appeal. Hm, it might be an interesting 90s meta-fiction to have side-characters in a Marvel universe watch in horror as reality splinters into pieces as Marvel sells off movie rights...
