@gruber No, a signed ramdisk means the brute force is done on-device. The 10 attempt limit is enforced by iOS, ramdisk bypasses that.

@gruber To be clear: Apple can create ramdisks for any device. We need a public bootrom exploit to do the same, so not for iPhone 4S or 5. -
@qmahoney So technically this means FIPS 140-1 & 140-2 mandates for approval for encryption standard is meaningless? -
