Any time I have to use AWS I feel miserable. Since people ask me what exactly is it that annoys me, let's start a thread, which I'll just update any time something bothers me.

#awsmisery is when R53's ListHostedZonesByName with dnsname=http://doesntexist.com will sometimes return no results and sometimes results that are wrong. Depending on lexicographic ordering. (I know this is for pagination - but it's the only way to retrieve a ZoneID by name!)pic.twitter.com/tb8qqAeqgf

#awsmisery is when you want to change an IAM password and AWS helpfully squashes 'your new password does not have the right special characters' and 'you might not be allowed to change your pssword' into one error message, and doesn't tell you what it actually wants.Prikaži ovu nit -
#awsmisery (and#shittyAPIs) is when you send an API request and the only thing you get back is 'The requested configuration is currently not supported. Please check the documentation for supported configurations.' Might as well save some bytes and send back: `Error: Failure`.Prikaži ovu nit

You can circumvent this particular misery by adding echo [key] > /root/.ssh/authorized_keys to user_data This is big Enterprise Cloud Architect energy, I know
