Why not apt-get?
-
With snap, the software vendor has a total control of libraries versions, because snap app run on isolated environment.
-
Sounds like a collosal security incident.
-
Snap's updating works better than apt's. Unsure about your security concern, we don't bundle anything in the snap that you wouldn't get in the tgz
-
“works better”. Please explain.
-
Snap automatically updates, apt doesn't by default

No starter icon is installed in the launcher on Ubuntu 17.10. No way to add it to the favorites in the launcher when it's running.
-
We just checked and couldn't reproduce. Could you please help us out by attaching more information to this ticket?https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/PY-26885
