When texting became a thing (like regular cell phone texting, not weird ‘90s pager texting), I immediately thought: “Awesome, phone calls are over forever unless absolutely unavoidably critical.” It’s bizarre to me that not everyone felt that way.https://twitter.com/pervocracy/status/1135929972386914306 …

FYI for boomers: us millennial children actually find texting *more* polite than calling, because it's less of a demand on someone's time. They don't have to stop everything at that moment to talk to you. It's not just about being afraid to talk.

Xennials who resisted the ‘00s pivot-to-texting were so bizarre to me. The only people who ever call us are creditors anyway.

My parents (in their 80s) don't know/want to learn how to text. It would make my life easier if they did.

At first many phones were harder to text with, remember tapping keys multiple times to get the right letter? Back then calling was easier. Once it became easier to text, I was totally there.

I've felt super weird about calling people on the phone for a while now.
