    We need more scientists working across all fields so they can incorporate the strengths of a scientific mindset to everything that affects our lives. We need to a top characterizing these as “alternative” or “failures”!

    Ha! It particularly hurts when external revs come back saying too large a % leave prior to a PhD. A more constructive response would be - what did they do after leaving? Nursing School, instrument sales, teaching?? Grad school is supposed to be educational, not an apprenticeship!
