aaah crap nerdsniped by lighter than air
of course there'd probably be a problem that the steam would cool down a lot so it'd have to be insulated?

okay next idea what if instead of steam we used argon

as a noble gas all its kinetic energy would be in the form of velocity rather than the spinning you get in molecules. 1 degree of freedom == more energy dense?
Prikaži ovu nit -
of course argon's denser than air, but we just make it hot

helium: leaks, expensive. hydrogen: leaks, very dangerous

I guess worst case maybe the gas bag starts leaking argon into the cabin and you asphyxiate but I'm not sure how real of a risk that would be

physics book sez "the average translational kinetic energy per molecule depends on on the temperature, not the pressure, volume, or kind of molecule"
