i hate when really individual communicative “translations” go viral b/c even if that isn’t how YOU mean it people are too ignorant (or pussy) to approach people individually and will assume you are saying things you aren’t because that’s what someone tweeted and it blew up
like i only mean exactly what i say??? i don’t speak in code?? im not exaggerating when i say i literally always mean what i say because it makes everything go faster and i don’t have to wonder if they took the “hint”. because communication isn’t a fucking game.

all in all i just think it’s short sighted to make blanket rules for intimate engagements. acknowledge people as individuals by asking them literally whatever you’d need to know to engage with them. approach people in good faith unless you have a good reason not to.
