I have never agreed with “love conquers all” and “we are against hate” as a political response to any marginalization. Those responses persist to this day and they’ve never been more annoying, more patronizing, and more useless.

“love conquers all” and “we are against hate” are moral affirmations that marginalized people are good + loving. It’s irrelevant. Systems of oppression are about more than hate. Your oppressors don’t care about your goodness. They will not see it + cease fire. Move. Accordingly.
