a lot of promise of unity dies when the ruling class decides to give marginalized people the “equal” opportunity to be capitalists. this is because our collective liberation was and is still tied to developing class consciousness and eventually eliminating class altogether
by accepting (the most privilege) of a marginalized people the ruling class gains representation points while muddying the political aims and desires of that same group.
as marginalized/oppressed people continue to find slim acceptance as part of the ruling class, the aim for the respective community can be diluted where we‘re not as collectively into eliminating class and power—seeking said power in the ruling class instead
i believe this can and does apply to any oppressed people classed out of the ruling class (that is... until some inevitable liberal reform given within the last century)
