if you understand that masculinity isn't itself toxic you can understand that it's not exactly masculinity that's "fragile", it's manhood.

men’s patriarchal control and dominance can be exhibited through acts and behavior they call masculinity but masculinity isn’t toxic, it’s just an expression of self. it’s manhood, patriarchy, and gendered dynamics as they exist that are toxic.

every time anyone says “toxic masculinity” or “fragile masculinity” they just mean manhood! just say manhood!!! designate men and how they act out their gendered role, which does include their extreme warped sense masculinity, as the issue.
