abolishing the police means abolishing the state as it exists. dismantling capitalism and patriarchy are central to prison abolition because these systems perpetuate conditions that not only create crime but justify policing in the first place.

all institutions are poisoned by the violence and dominations inherent to capitalism and patriarchy. it’s not enough to substitute police with social workers or doctors; in addition to a change in the state and all work, measures of consequence and accountability must take place.

the violence of manhood, war, even anti-black/xenophobic/classist fears are all symptoms of capitalism and patriarchy used to justify the dominance, surveillance and policing they exert under the guise of a safety that capitalism and patriarchy convinces you only it can guarantee
