black people aren’t as unified today like they were 50-60 years ago. there are just too many people who don’t care. and that’s exactly what the government wanted.

if you dont mind reading i suggest reading disintegration by eugene robinson, you only need certain chapters but it’s not dense or long as a whole. he talks about this and explains why it seems that way by going through classed and racial dynamics throughout the 20th century
