stop educating me on homophobia, i've been facing that for a good ass decade now. living gay has societal consequences and despite them some of us choose being out. that is my point.

homophobia is a sufficient reason to choose not to live gay (or have discretion) and none of us are exempt from that. that's exactly my point. there is nothing neutral about being gay in our society so making the choice to live like that *anyway* is powerful.

if being out isn't safe then dont be. outness isnt worth your safety but pls dont take it out on me because you can't understand what i feel. sorry but that's not really my problem, take it out on the system that keeps you imprisoned not me

srry if im stupid n not getting smth but like what does this mean hfjdb. bc like i didn’t choose to be a lesbian i literally just,, am attracted to women, and thats the word tht describes me

i find being "out" is actually more meaningful framed within a choice narrative over a born this way one because it takes into account the sociopolitical context you live in and how you come to know yourself. i didn't choose my sexuality but i choose to live it daily (be out).
