This has always been the greatest argument for the #BuildPublicRenewables Act. State law says we must get to 70% renewable by 2030. Yet the private sector will only guarantee it, if it is always profitable for them Our future is more important than guaranteeing their profits

INFLATION ASK: Renewable developers with NYSERDA contracts to subsidize their projects are worried about inflation — and want to discuss an adjustment to increase their payments. The Alliance for Clean Energy New York, which represents most of the renewable energy industry in the state, sent a letter proposing higher payments in mid-December. “I am writing to you today to respectfully request that NYSERDA consider implementing an inflation adjustment to strike prices in the suite of awarded and contracted projects that have not yet begun operation,” wrote ACE New York’s executive director Anne Reynolds. The letter notes that this is the position of a supermajority of the trade group’s members but not all of them.
