You’ve got it backwards. Artists are really angry a profitless company, which charges consumers through the nose, can’t afford to pay them 100x as much money. Like, where’s it supposed to come from?

Oh I don't care about that I mean you can't just upload your music directly like SoundCloud you have to pay a service. Dumb. They also have taken down my 100% original music bc of false DMCA flag. Same album up everywhere else no problem. They suck

The cost of false positives in infringement are very low for them & the cost of DMCA violations is very high. That’s not their fault. That’s the copyright industrial complex collecting rents.

If the government tells me I can do X and have no liability, or I can do Y, which makes me no money and creates liability, I’m gonna do X and if people think I’m dumb that’s on them.

Meanwhile YouTube's lawyers somehow allow my original content to exist. Maybe they're just better at this. Also I'm playing a diff game my art is free anyway I'm creative commons non profit musician. They have no interest in free and open art regardless
