The thing to remember about Benioff is that he’s first and foremost a salesman, and an extremely good one.
If Benioff can get SF to pass a tax that’s brutal for other companies but doesn’t cost Salesforce much, while painting their CEOs as scoundrels & personally getting the credit for helping the homeless, he’s truly the GOAT. That is truly some Kaiser Söze-level shit.

Why does it cost Salesforce less than other companies?

Because it’s a gross receipts tax vs a head tax, tax on square footage, etc. despite being a larger employer in SF with more profits, they pay much less. The prop also excludes several kinds of businesses, including banks, which is kinda weird.
