    There are people who are in precarious employment on low incomes who may refuse the test because they cannot afford to take time off work until the results come through. They’re not conspiracy theorists- they’re stuck through no fault of their own.

    I very much agree with Melissa. You can’t just say people are refusing covid tests due to “conspiracy theories” and walk away—it will only cause more distrust and acrimony. There are years of work done on how to deal with anti-vaccination sentiment that could be drawn on here.

    I asked the dept of health and gov comprehensive questions about which conspiracy theories and which communities were believing them. They could give me no detail or data. Seems a dangerous statement for gov to make without providing data or context to back it up.
