Get Angry. "It's been dead for years." "It's a place of nefarious assignations" are the words hack politicians and clouted leaders use to try to give cover to theft: diminishing and destroying one of Chicago's loveliest oases - the South Shore Nature Sanctuary . . .

If you’ve watched Arrival dozens of times, we are soul mates. If you’ve cried at the end of each Kroker trilogy film, we are soul mates. If you’ve felt like dancing in every room of your home & out into the streets throughout Latcho Drom, we are soul mates.

The State of Illinois is planning to spend $6.5 billion on a “transit hub” no one will use so a private developer can profit from building on a rail yard. Meanwhile, is selling the Thompson Center because it would cost $300 million to repair after years of neglect

IMHO the greatest CPD landscape is Harold Washington Common Ground in Washington Park—it encapsulates the best things about Chicago’s public parks in a large, beautifully designed package: open, free, democratic. (And poster child of the city’s misbehaviors towards its parks.)

In 1930 the Indiana Bell building was rotated 90°. Over a month, the structure was moved 15 inch/hr, all while 600 employees still worked there. There was no interruption to gas, heat, electricity, water, sewage, or the telephone service they provided. No one inside felt it move.
