There are bad preprints, the same way that there are bad Cell/Science/Nature papers. Preprints have been absolutely essential to disseminate important information during disease outbreaks, and more generally just to keep the science front and center.

Preprints are taking a bashing today (one for good reason). Something to consider: we are waiting on the publication of one of our papers that was accepted FIVE MONTHS AGO. Thanks to , it's old news at this point

Protocols aren't always easy to replicate because simple details are missing in the description. This can save time, precious samples, and energy that can be used in more productive ways. I am so glad to be part of community

The new landscape of open science with preprints on and protocols on and such alike is contributing to managing disease outbreaks real time. Love it to see that it only took a couple of years and the pushing along was well worth it.
