When I was about five, I learned what an "oblong" was. Or so I thought. I was convinced it was just another name for a rectangle, but Google Image Search suggests it's a rectangle with rounded corners. Fun fact: the word in Italian originally referred to slippers and it's also used to referred to power strips (I always have to look up "power strip" as I'm tempted to just say "slipper" when referring to them).
