You could rig this up with a fishing scale and a pair of skyhooks (climbing gear).
Design idea for the weight-conscious traveller: small-size weighing scales which clip, with calipers, to the top of a door frame, with a dangling handle. The scales pair via Bluetooth; you hang from the handle briefly; it records your weight. Mention my name in the patent!

@bluesmart suitcases. The one I have has Bluetooth, and a built-in scale that reports the weight on the app. Mine is a nice small overhead bin sized roller. -
So I just need to make sure I'm in roughly the weight range of a suitcase... :)
