Just found buried in the Pixel 2 XL camera menu an option (off by default) to give you a "dirty lens" warning when trying to take pictures.
I thought all digital cameras had that? The warning is an image of some dirt on the screen.

i've seen it on dedicated cameras, sure. First time I've seen it on my phone though... and I use the camera rarely enough that it always ends up being smudged when I need it so warning is good.

My reflex currently has an indicator in the form of a gray dot in the lower left area of the photo... it even helpfully renders it on every picture you take!
