How about having questions based on other non-name properties of the countries, like "the country whose capital is Lima"? Of course, not all of the "countries" in the current version are actually countries, though I'm not sure that matters!

And yes - it's surprisingly complex to determine what's a country. Eg Réunion is officially a department of France, but it looked weird in the app to tap an island in the middle of the ocean and be told it's a European country.

Yes, and Réunion also has its own international dialing code, so nobody can agree. The current maps don't show South Sudan as a separate country, by the way...

Hmm Blank Map Quiz's map shows South Sudan separately, and Google does too. What does "the current maps" refer to?

Now I think I just made a mistake! I was asked to find Sudan, which I did (correctly!) and I thought to myself "that looks like the old, unified Sudan", and I suspect I just never knew what Sudan looked like... Sorry!

About 30% of feedback I get is people telling me that country X doesn't look like that, or when I tap on A it tells me it's B, or that X isn't in the right place. Always check, but not had a correct one yet

Maybe I found one! Crimea is not currently reflecting the "situation on the ground"...

Hmm. Maybe you got one. Maybe. It should probably be down as a separate territory to avoid getting political! Thanks

Or you could do what Google Maps does and present different maps depending on where you're viewing from...
