I'm surprised tetrachromacy isn't winning! If I think about how awful it would be to lose one colour, then take that in the opposite direction, tetrachromacy must be awesome!

Counterpoint: most of the world isn't designed with a fourth primary colour in mind though, so it's possible the extra dimension would be very distressing. For one, I suspect some monochrome things wont't stay that way.

I heard a theory that the "magic" of witches in the middle ages was just tetrachromacy. They could tell, for example, if someone had a high temperature. This would be consistent with it being more commonly (only?) seen in women. "Killing all the witches" was counterevolutionary.
