Was about to say the same. I love working outdoors like that, but the sun is a harsh mistress.
It's been bearable, but I have to code with black text on a white background, and I also have to increase my font size. To about 6pts.

I have been tempted to build a gazebo, wired with electricity, just so I can code outside on nice days. Then I remember how hot, muggy, and miserable summers in Philly can be, and I realize I'd probably code outside all of two weeks before retreating, sweatily, to my office.

There's a coworking space in Boulder (which has very dry summer heat) which is a patio under a shady grove of trees jutting out into a bend in the river as it cascades over some rocks. Basically flawless.
