Losing weight isn't easy, but it is simple: I ate just one normal-sized meal a day for the last six weeks, and I've lost 7kg. First two weeks were hard, but it was quite easy after that. Going somewhere unfamiliar made it easier to break old, bad eating habits. Ask me anything.

One meal a day? My routine (kids) would make that a challenge. My approach: cut one coffee and 2 donut bites at lunch, replace with a lunch walk. No ice cream. Cut any night snacks/drinks and replace with vegetables/water. No extra snacks at work, etc. 1k cals/day!

Hmmm. I think we were starting from different places! I rarely ever ate doughnuts, didn't have sugar in drinks, and have never been fond of ice cream... and I was still gaining weight before! :) I'm probably taking in 750kcal/day at the moment, though.

Yes, I agree. I cut 1k cals/day from extra junk, some I had started recently. I would caution you on trying to survive on 750 cals/day!!! I once did that, got unexplained, VERY BAD ab muscle cramps, sick easily, irritable, etc. I would never recommend that little to anyone.

I agree it *seems* too little, based on what other people suggest. I haven't had any adverse effects yet (I've been feeling better, once past the initial two-week adaptation), but I'll jump straight out of it if anything does get worse...
