I really don't understand this common attitude that couples should have a say in each other's hairstyle. Especially in the case of a man disapproving of a woman's hair, it seems utterly inappropriate to me.

To state the point a bit more moderately - I have no problem with whatever arrangement couples have, so long as they arrive at it mutually (hairstyle, BDSM, name changing, anything). But the "Don't you mind that...?" comments about my relationship (both ways) weird me out.
