I just don't get @lightbend @scala_lang strategy regarding IDE. ScalaIDE is droped (nobody work on it anymore). All the good work done in #ensime is as good as nonexistant. But thing will be better in Dotty, so everything is well, I suppose?

sbt 1.1 paves the way for LSP integration. It's still super barebones but I think it's the best way

Is LSP only for VS Code?

lsp means "language server protocol", it's just a protocol to interact (in a normalized way) with SBT. Most sane ide (ie: all but eclipse?) have some sort of lsp to make language integration easy. Vscode has one very neatly defined.

Ok, in this doc they refer to LSP a microsoft techno https://developer.lightbend.com/blog/2017-11-30-sbt-1-1-0-RC1-sbt-server/ …

the idea is not new, but it's the first cross-language spec that gained traction (thanks to VSCode).

I think IntelliJ is becoming really good for scala dev, mostly since it uses sbt for compilation (à la ensime).

OK, I'm trying
@intellijidea again, and I'm disapointed (again). Scala compile error are not displayed in editor (???), I need to manually start compil to have updated errors in all the project, and the black theme is very hard to read for me.2 replies 0 retweets 0 likes
