This a great/terrible conversation. You know half the APIs marked for deprecation will not get their promised replacement in time, right?
I hope the prospect of an army of unhappy users who can't compile their code on the same day would help focus the mind to publish the replacement API... ;)
I don't think there should be *any* deprecation without a current solution.
