Would a better language be one which reveals its flaws sooner? This sounds like the Law of Triviality. If I'm understanding, you're effectively saying Scala takes longer luring you into a sense of trust before betraying you, so it feels worse than a language you never trusted.

yes. Don't think it's just trust; takes a lot of skill to realise the extent. It's easy to observe and describe why not Python. Takes years in Scala.
