Interesting also that Scala 2.12 vs 2.11 seems to be a much greater benefit to Magnolia (1.9x faster) than to Kittens (a touch slower).
Something else to note: Compile times still improving, even ten compilations (i.e. 500 derivations) into the test on the resident compiler.
And there's a lot more stability of compile times for Magnolia than for Kittens. No idea why; GC timings doesn't seem to explain it.
Bottom line is that with Magnolia, fifty complex derivations still only took about 4s on 2.11 and 2s on 2.12-typelevel with a warm compiler.
