I'm pretty impressed that the @typelevel Scala compiler gives Magnolia 20% extra performance; which is more than it benefits Kittens.

Interesting also that Scala 2.12 vs 2.11 seems to be a much greater benefit to Magnolia (1.9x faster) than to Kittens (a touch slower).

Ha! It starts with a cold JVM, and shows the first 25 iterations. I'm using scalac -Xresident, and timing each compilation with... a script!
