I think the count vs. mass noun distinction is even more striking because it's so simple yet native speakers don't realize it exists.

And yet when I learned Spanish I struggled with “John's book” => “Libre de Juan”. Human languages are stupid. Time for Esperanto!

“Johanns Buch“ in high German or „dat Buch von dem Johann“ in my regional dialect. ;) languages are great fun!
