      My french used to be on the bad side of ok but then I didn't use it for 15 years and learned two other languages badly as well.

      Particularly because I honestly have very little use for French. I'd work on my German or Spanish in preference to it

      These are my foreign languages, too. It's awful, as they all speak English very well, so there's neither opportunity nor need to learn.

      Incidentally, I was also in Canada more recently than I've slept... though I'm now in Copenhagen where I have no shame speaking English.
