Working on getting my french up to "show willing" level so the locals don't hate me too much when I make them speak English

Particularly because I honestly have very little use for French. I'd work on my German or Spanish in preference to it
These are my foreign languages, too. It's awful, as they all speak English very well, so there's neither opportunity nor need to learn.

I'm in Montreal right now, where it's almost made worse by English also being an official ish language

Incidentally, I was also in Canada more recently than I've slept... though I'm now in Copenhagen where I have no shame speaking English.
