It's also worth noting that you can toss sbt-release into your project and automate the whole thing.
I had problems with that on Rapture on Scala.js, but I suspect that was Rapture's size at fault. Maybe not a problem with recent projects...

That's almost certainly a combination of scala.js and sbt-release's fault. sbt-release does WEIRD things with SBT's state.

Rapture is approaching 50 modules x 2 platforms (many of them tiny single-typeclass jobs), which seemed to be enough to need kill -9 java.

For the record, I don't actually use sbt-release. I just type things out every time, because I like human error. :-P
