As long as you have the sbt-sonatype plugin, it does indeed work exactly that easily! Skips staging altogether.

If you want to be paranoid (recommended!), you can prepend `; clean; +test`

It's also worth noting that you can toss sbt-release into your project and automate the whole thing.

I had problems with that on Rapture on Scala.js, but I suspect that was Rapture's size at fault. Maybe not a problem with recent projects...
