I’m surprised. Of all the things I taught in that multithreading course, immutability is the notion they have a hard time to grasp

I can sort of see where all this comes from when you start with mutability as the obvious, natural, closer-to-reality start point.

I think it took me about 3yrs (in an environment without much pressure to do so) to get "mutability-by-default" out of my system.
