I’m surprised. Of all the things I taught in that multithreading course, immutability is the notion they have a hard time to grasp

I can sort of see where all this comes from when you start with mutability as the obvious, natural, closer-to-reality start point.
I think when people first encounter immutability, they're looking for reasons why, and will grasp at whatever they find...
