aren't these for different things? Run-time vs "the runtime" (eg JVM)
Words often evolve from two words to hyphenated to one word. We currently have "runtime" yet "compile-time". Time to upgrade to compiletime?

I think the evolution might be faster for nouns... Hyphenation distinguishes between "(run time) foo" and "run (time foo)".

Yes, true! My brain often splits words like "nosecone" two characters too early...
