      Cool use of SAM types literals. I predict it'll be labelled too magical and banned as a bad practice.

      Yeah, I really want to get more people using SAMs. They remove a huge amount of boilerplate from typeclasses instances.

      I'm behind you on that. But I think we'll be in the minority. Also SAM types introduce another way to break source compatibility

      But I do frequently hear that Scala should get first-class typeclasses, and SAM Is a step towards that.

      Other first-class-typeclasses suggestions I've seen seem to compromise the generally of implicits by optimizing only common cases.
