We get another leap second tonight! Can anyone tell me why the time difference between the epoch and midnight is an exact number of minutes?

@antonpiatek Seems that way. Even though the timezone files know about leap seconds... :(

@propensive that's because the epoch ignores leap seconds. Your clock has to step forward one more s but elapses time since epoch doesn't -
