Just got a surge of vicarious satisfaction from friend's story about confronting bike thief and getting her bike back yesterday!

@propensive I also think often bike thieves just end up riding bikes themselves (as in this case).
@d6 Main issue was reconciling:
1. Most people I know own a bike they bought new.
2. Most people have had at least one bike stolen.
