Just got a surge of vicarious satisfaction from friend's story about confronting bike thief and getting her bike back yesterday! 
@d6 Shouldn't a surfeit of supply on the second-hand bike market mean they're so cheap it's not worth it for thieves to keep stealing them?

@propensive Well, if more and more people start riding bikes the demand would be growing. Also bikes get old, get wrecked, etc. -
