      Like, I don't know what kind of parallel universe you live in where you can write understandable, production services without Java interop.

      @kf FWIW, I learned Scala on the job and didn't do any Java interop. Obviously people's mileage will vary.

      @d6 @kf new programmers seem to take to Scala quicker than I did. I had to unlearn so much, they just absorb it all.

      @kf @d6 people right out of school who find things like 'inheritance' and 'visitor pattern' just as weird as monads or parametricity
