@propensive interesting. I assume you've tried to avoid reqmt to use mode.unwrap inside methods?
@oxbow_lakes Trouble is, you have an abstract HKT which you need to get away from. The unwrap method is the only way to get the right type.

@propensive interesting, but I think that the cost is too high. If approach is widely adopted, my code would be hidden by unwrap everywhere -
@oxbow_lakes You mean the syntactic burden? The alternative is to import the default mode (throwExceptions) inside your method implement'n.
